Projects:
 
After finishing Revenant Mass, I completed two more works Advaya for trumpet and vibraphone and Live Sax Acts for saxophone quartet. I'm now writing a trio for piccolo, glockenspiel and celeste.  School is about to start and so is the concert season. Things are heating up here in Baton Rouge!

October 12, 2010 - Indiana University, Jacobs School of Music, Bloomington, IN. Performance of Dietz's Custom Frame by the Symphonic Band. Jeffrey Gershman, conductor. 
 
October 13, 2010 - Solo Recital, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA. World premiere of Dietz's Tranz, Advaya, and Revenant Mass. Plus the world premiere of David Stock's Three Vignettes and Jude Traxler's Behind the Walls of Sleep for solo marimba.

October 17, 2010 - Hamiruge - The LSU Percussion Group, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA. "Minimalize Cancer" Concert. All American minimalist music featuring the works of John Luther Adams, Steve Reich, Peter Garland and Philip Glass. All proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Society.

October 26, 2010 - Diagnosis and Treatment of STROKE Conference, Holy Oak, Massachusetts. Dietz will discuss his recovery from stroke and present portions of his composition, Headcase.

November 5, 2010 - Duquesne University Wind Ensemble, Pittsburgh, PA. Dietz guest conducts the DU Wind Ensemble in the premiere of his new work, Barbed Wire Philosophies. 25th Anniversary concert for conductor, Robert Cameron.

April 16, 2011 - LSU Wind Ensemble, Baton Rouge, LA. Performance of Dietz's redshift for solo trumpet and wind ensemble. Jerry Junkin, conductor, Brian Shaw, trumpet.

April 20, 2011 - Dallas Wind Symphony, Dallas, TX. Performance of Dietz's redshift for solo trumpet and wind ensemble. Jerry Junkin, conductor, Brian Shaw, trumpet.

New Books:

Brett's two new books, Reflex: 15 Studies for the Intermediate Multi-Percussionist and Spin Cycle: 12 Pieces for Solo Snare Drum, were released on November 12, 2010 at the Percussive Art Society International Convention.
